The ADVANCE Center for Faculty Development and Success and the Office of Research invite faculty and postdocs who are research mentors to apply for a five-session mentor development workshop series on Fridays September 11-October 9, 2026 in Clayton University Center Room 225. Using the curriculum created by CIMER: the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research, participants will actively engage in discussions and case studies important to enhancing research mentor skills and have time to build a mentoring plan.
Each in-person session will be facilitated by Dr. Levine and Ms. Chao.
Upon completion of the series, participants will receive a certificate at the final session celebration.
The general schedule of each session is:
- 8:30-9:00 Light Breakfast and Networking
- 9:00-11:00 CIMER Interactive Workshop Content
- 11:00-11:30 Mentoring Plan Development
CIMER is the nationally recognized model of research mentor training which supports participants to develop and enact a more comprehensive Mentor Action Plan. In order to earn a completion certificate and badge for your CV, participants must attend all sessions. If you are unable to commit to every session, you are welcome to register on a topic-by-topic basis, without earning the certificate or badge.
Please complete the application by August 28, 2026 so we may notify you by September 1st.
Contact Dr. Levine (mjl410@lehigh.edu) or Ms. Jenny Chao (jcc410@lehigh.edu) if you have questions.
