The ADVANCE Center offers tenured associate professors the opportunity to form grass roots peer groups for support, strategic insight, and accountability for preparing dossiers to apply for full professor.
ADVANCE Directors, or others, will be conveners or facilitators. Discuss or make progress on topics including (not limited to):
- understanding, reinterpreting expectations and criteria for full professor, understand the process
- set goals based on your time horizon
- identifying key attributes of prospective external reviewers
- time to write together
- read each other's work and gain perspective on strengthening your portfolio's impact
- invite a member of a recent promotion committee
- have a sounding board and get advice for the situation(s) you're in
- minimizing sources of stress or uncertainty
- identifying resources
- continue building your scholarly brand
- other tangible skill development and support to get projects over the finish line
