Mentor, Network, Collaborate at Lehigh and beyond.
As a recipient of an NSF ADVANCE-IT Grant, Lehigh ADVANCE is building within the University structure new opportunities for women faculty in science and engineering to mentor and network with other women scholars within Lehigh and with neighboring institutions. Lehigh’s geographical location and size offer the opportunity to serve as a model for other small to mid-sized universities by creating a regional network with surrounding academic institutions.
Meet LU-WISE
Lehigh ADVANCE formed a Lehigh University “Women in Science and Engineering, WISE” group in Spring 2011. LU-WISE aims to build community by creating a friendly atmosphere to enable participants to learn about one another and to participate in formal and informal dialogue on various issues at numerous opportunities throughout the year. From networking, to peer mentoring, to professional skill development, join us to support your connections across campus and your career advancement.
The LU-WISE Lunch Series will build community by cultivating a friendly atmosphere to enable participants to learn about women scientists’ and engineers’ research areas of interest and to participate in informal dialogue and exploration of new ideas while reducing isolation. Lehigh ADVANCE aims to host monthly LU-WISE luncheons.
Student Lehigh WISE "This program is to establish a strong network of women [students] in STEM on Lehigh Campus, to learn from one another and exchange ideas, find strength and encouragement, and work on solutions together to promote women's leadership and visibility in the sciences." Email the student leadership: lehigh.wise@gmail.com, stay connected through their Facebook Group.
