We are pleased to invite you to Cited & Sighted, an ADVANCE Center LU-WISE session designed to spotlight significant research by and about women in STEM to our faculty colleagues. All faculty are welcome to attend and learn together. RSVP by March 20.
The goal: to share high-impact articles (research or practice) that deserve more visibility in our academic discourse. This is a low-pressure, discussion-based forum—no slide decks or formal presentations required. Learn about publications which impact the way you think about your scholarship and/or about the STEM professoriate.
The Format:
We are looking for up to 4 Spotlighters, faculty of any gender who will briefly introduce one article to the rest of the community. The paper can be self-promotion, promotion of a Lehigh colleague or by someone outside our University. The emphasis is on sharing and elevating awareness of scholarship by and about STEM women.
For each 5-minute share, we ask our Spotlighters to cover:
- The Sight: One favorite scientific or technical research paper by a women, trans or non-binary scholar in STEM or a research, practice, implementation paper focused on transforming the professoriate to be more gender inclusive.
- The Cite: The most interesting or surprising finding within it.
- The Spark: Why this work deserves a brighter spotlight for members of our campus.
The Structure:
Following each share, we will move into a focused, moderated dialogue on the implications of the work for our STEM departments and our overall faculty culture.
RSVP by March 20.
