Here is a list of 2024-2025 Priorities for the ADVANCE Center.
- Appoint a second faculty director
- Encorporate and cite new faculty DEI research into existing programs and initiatives, and especially continue to elevate work by scholars from marginilized identities.
- Administer the 3rd Year of Advancing Future Faculty Diversity Postdoctoral Program (working with scholars in cohorts 1 and 2, recruiting cohort 3).
- Strengthen Mentoring
- New Faculty Mentoring via INC
- Launch support network for associate professors seeking promotion to full professor in the next year or two.
- Faculty retention- identify data, identify and/or amplify strategies which reduce non-retirement faculty attrition
- Infuse equity-mindedness into faculty evaluation as updates to tenure and promotion processes and documentation occur.
- Mobilize resources or share professional development opportunities for how individuals and units can make design and assess their personal and local level DE&I goals or stratgic plans.
- Support the co-creation of a shared framework for evidence-based practices for fostering workload equity. This is particularly important with respect to service and the service which is often rendered invisible.
- Sponsor the community of STEM women professional development gatherings.
- Continue supporting faculty education for recruiting an excellent and diverse faculty.
