The Deputy Provost for Faculty Affairs and the Deputy Provost for Graduate Education invite you to apply for a six-session fall workshop series to further develop your mentoring expertise. This workshop series is particularly useful to pre-tenure faculty and to those who are applying for extramural research training grants.
The deadline to apply with this form is September 8, 2022.
Using the curriculum created by CIMER: the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research, participants will actively engage in discussions of topics including the following, which have been identified by research mentors:
- Establishing Expectations
- Maintaining Effective Communication
- Assessing Understanding & Fostering Independence
- Promoting Professional Development
- Addressing Diversity & Ethics
WHEN & WHERE: Each two hour session will be facilitated by Drs. Hutnik and Levine and take place from 10:00 am to 12:00pm on the following dates in person, in MG101:
- September 23
- September 30
- October 14
- October 21
- October 28
- November 4
Drop in office hours will be scheduled the weeks of October 3 and October 24
Participants must commit to all six sessions and we require 12 particpants to hold the series.
The Fall 2022 application form will ask for your name, basic contact information, and a brief paragraph about what you hope to gain from attending this series.
Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate and be invited to a celebration.
