We are no longer accepting nominations. Thank you for your interest.
The Lehigh NSF-ADVANCE Grant seeks nominations and self-nominations of Lehigh tenured faculty for two positions as the 2014 ADVANCE Chairs in Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The Lehigh ADVANCE Program is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation’s ADVANCE Program for Increasing the Participation and Advancement of Women in Academic Science and Engineering Careers. The ADVANCE Chair positions are for one year with the opportunity for continued participation on the Lehigh ADVANCE Leadership Team throughout the remaining years of the grant. Each chair appointment includes a stipend of $10,000 summer salary and one course release.
The goal of the Lehigh project, ADVANCE: Building Community Beyond Academic Departments, is to improve recruitment, retention, career satisfaction, and leadership development of early- and mid-career women faculty in the STEM fields through institutional transformation integrated with Lehigh’s commitment to disciplinary and interdisciplinary research and teaching.
As core members of the Lehigh ADVANCE Program, the ADVANCE Chairs (past and present) will serve on the Lehigh ADVANCE Leadership Team and help to develop and participate in the specific programs and activities associated with the grant. In particular, the ADVANCE Chairs will take primary responsibility for organizing the Academic Symposium currently scheduled for Spring 2015.
Please send nominations and self-nominations (including a cover letter and CV) to Marci Levine, Lehigh ADVANCE Project Manager, mjl410@lehigh.edu, Lehigh ADVANCE, STEPS 316 by February 28, 2014.
