AWIS and Lehigh: Mentoring Students

On April 18, Cindy Simpson and Gail Gasparich visited Lehigh University representing AWIS and spoke with some participants of our Interdisciplinary Networking Committee mentoring program about faculty mentoring of graduate students. Topics covered were broad and included work-life balance, working with students who have their own funding and how to cultivate independent questioning and intellectual curiosity while supporting your own research goals. New Research Opportunities for Lehigh's Women Engineers

From Lehigh News: The P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science (RCEAS) has received a grant from the Henry Luce Foundation to offer women engineering majors further opportunities to conduct research. S. David Wu, Iacocca Professor and dean of the engineering college, announced the receipt of the Henry Luce Foundation grant along with the establishment of the new Lehigh Engineering Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship, which is open to both men and women.
