Fewer invited talks by women constrains discipline from full potential

Research Results mid-grant update

The Social Science Research Team of Diane Hyland, Jackie Krasas and Wendy Abrantes examines the intersection of gender and mode of scholarship as well as gender and climate factors across 10 private mid-sized research universities. A research survey emphasizing attitudes toward and involvement in collaborative and interdisciplinary research was distributed to all women STEM faculty and the best matched male faculty peer at nine peer institutions (n=843). 298 completed surveys were received (33.4% response rate)...
