ADVANCE will invite the new provost to visit with STEM women, will advocate for clarity on faculty evaluation and documentation with respect to COVID, and will send out a follow-on survey to fine tune schedule availability and individual interest in the ideas that rose to the top of the 8/6 Ideas Cafe.
- anti-racism in STEM
- addressing and surviving the impacts of COVID-19 on faculty careers and evaluation
- caregiving challenges worsened by COVID-19 (this was partially addressed at the 8/13 event with WGSS and CGE)
- ideas to cultivate and sustain community of STEM women (include not limited to)
- support individual gives/gets
- writing accountabilty
- casual LU-WISE cafe socials
- keep current on university policies (ex: new Harassment & Discrimination Policy) while championing more equitable policies (regarding service and D&I work)
- mentoring of students while remote & mentoring for underrepresented students
- leadership development (to keep the leadership pipeline diverse AND to develop current administrators' with inclusive leadership competencies)
- support and community for POPs, lecturers, and adjuncts
- addressing interdisciplinarity and collaboration inequities
- engaging more men in advancing equity and inclusion
